4th Annual Applied Research and Innovation Symposium Goes Live!

Centennial College is pleased to announce the web cast for our 4th Annual Applied Research and Innovation Symposium (ARIS) 2009 - "From Evidence to Action - Growing Solutions for a Better World" - on Monday, June 8th, 2009.

This event is co-sponsored by the Centre for Organizational Learning and Teaching (COLT) and the Applied Research and Innovation Centre (ARIC).  ARIC is a proud supporter of the College Ontario Network for Industry Innovation (CONII).

The link will be available when broadcasting begins at 8:45 a.m. and features will include:

08:45 a.m. -        Greetings - Ann Buller, President, Centennial College
Kristi Harrison, AVP, Academic Excellence
Trish Dryden, AVP, Research and Corporate Planning

09:00 a.m. -         Rick Blickstead, CEO of the Wellesley Institute will provide insights into the new environment and its research and action demands.

10:15 a.m. -         Faculty presentations on 4 innovative applied research projects.

11:20 a.m. -        1st panel discussion - lessons learned and practical advice on becoming involved in applied research.

11:45 a.m. -        Winning posters from our 1st Annual Student Research Poster Competition will be displayed onscreen during the lunch period.

12:45 p.m. -        2nd panel discussion on student and faculty engagement, commercialization, building research capacity and the impact on regional, social and economic prosperity.

  1:30 p.m. -        Endnote speaker will be Jeff Collins, Centennial graduate, Premier's Award winner and Founder and CEO of Medipattern Corporation.

  2:30 p.m. -        Closing Remarks - Vicki Bismilla, Vice-President, Academic and Chief Learning Officer
